#TalentTalk : Implementing a culture that takes resourcing seriously
Many organisations have a culture that does not take resourcing seriously.
During this TalentTalk John Wallace, author of HirePower, outlines 3 conditions that need to be in place for businesses to succeed in a resourcing sense. The aim of resourcing is not just to fill jobs but to meet the long-term hiring needs of the business.
This requires a deliberate and conscious effort to establish a resourcing plan. The three conditions John outlines are:
- Excellence and execution
- Long-term planning aligned with the business plan
John goes on to say that most recruitment efforts only focus on point 1. This is ineffective if you do not consider the long-term goals of the business and most importantly if you do not establish a culture within the organisation that takes resourcing seriously. John explains that a culture that does not take resourcing seriously is one that views recruitment as a task that simply needs to be done and can be done by anyone.
During this TalentTalk he outlines the major pitfalls in most company cultures as well as how to overcome them.
