The benefit of nurturing potential candidates before a vacancy is live can be difficult to understand – until you, for the first time, see how quickly an engaged audience turns into applications.
Richard Morrow is a Talent Acquisition Manager with Mott MacDonald and has worked with Candidate.ID on talent lead generation projects since the first day the software was launched in the business. As Mott MacDonald helps its customers build towards the new normal that is emerging, their recruitment needs start to again grow.
“Mott MacDonald has used Candidate.ID to communicate with our candidate market regularly before and during the pandemic. This means that we’ve managed expectations with our potential applicants – they understand that once vacancies are available, we will be in touch immediately” says Richard.
Late in May, one area of the business began to recruit again due to a new project and the first tool that Mott MacDonald logged into was Candidate.ID to find applicants.
Using Candidate.ID, Mott MacDonald:
- Created a search to identify all people who match the role criteria.
- Built an email, on-brand with Mott MacDonald’s guidelines that spoke about the opportunity.
- Used the Candidate.ID workflow tool to setup nurture which would check which people had not opened the email, and automatically send a follow-up to those.
- Were notified when someone replied or registered a note of interest.
Within ten minutes of the first email sending, Richard had ten candidates who applied. After the second email had sent, Richard cancelled the final send because:
“We have had an amazing response (too much in fact).”
This has saved Mott MacDonald substantial effort in sourcing and engagement, reducing the time to shortlist by more than five days.
